Therapy with Chantal
A qualified counsellor
The thought of reaching out could feel really hard and difficult. You may never have spoken to anyone before about what is burdening you. You may not know what it would feel like to say the words that you have been burying out loud to anyone, let alone to someone you have never met before.
You may feel worried what the therapist may think about you if you say what has been on your mind, how you have been feeling.
I want to reassure you that those ‘what if’s’ that you have spent so long spinning in your head may never happen.
Having someone to talk to that isn’t a friend or a family member can feel releasing and safe.
Therapy can help you to process your thoughts instead of keeping them tucked away in your head.
Overtime you may notice changes in your body too, that ache in your chest may start to be less prominent and overtime disappear.
Therapy can help you to know more about yourself and liking yourself again. Standing in front of the mirror for long periods of time feeling comfortable in yourself can feel releasing when you never thought this was possible.
If at the moment your mind is noisy, full of thoughts that are causing you to feel stuck we can work together to find tools that can bring quiet to your loud mind.
If you are grieving right now and you just don’t know what to do or if this ache that you are feeling will ever go away we can talk about this.
You may not feel like yourself and you just don't know why. You want to feel more like you but the trying you have done so far has got you no where. There are lots of reasons why you may be considering therapy and I want to let you know that all of your reasons are valid because they are important to you.
My therapy approach
I often bring my passion of neuroscience into sessions when needed giving practical tools that can help if feeling anxious that you can use in between our sessions.
As a psychotherapist I will bring in different approaches that can be useful to you and what you have come to therapy for this could be using a CBT exercise or getting creative during our session with some art or visual work. Our sessions will be always what is right for you and what you need during that session.
I offer sessions online as well as in person in Cornwall. If you are local then I also offer walk and talk sessions often on a beach or in the nearby woods.
